General information about Málaga


Malaga is situated in the region of Andalusia which is the south part of Spain. The region of Andalusia has a population of 7 million people. Malaga is the capital city of the Costa del Sol. It is situated between Marbella (only 57km away) and Nerja (only 77km away) and it has the population of about 528,000 people. Malaga has a thriving tourist industry which welcomes an average of around 10 million tourists every year from all around the world like people from Argentina that own Buenos Aires apartments. This city is approximately 9m above sea level and has a varied climate, with the average minimum temperatures being around 8/9 degrees Celsius and the average maximum temperatures being about 37/38 degrees Celsius. It, like most of the rest of the south of Spain does not get much rain with the number of days it rains a month ranging form 0 to about 6 even in the winter. The relative humidity is quite moderate and ranges 68% to 79% making it never too uncomfortable. From about Malaga has its own international airport which is situated just 8km (only 5 miles) south west of the city. It is a very busy airport with hundreds of chartered flights flying in and out of it everyday.

This area of Andalusia is known for having sun, sea, sand and mountains and this makes it on of the most visited area in Spain. Despite it so little rain Malaga still manages to have a lovely Pine forest as well as some rugged landscape and then of course there are the gorgeous beaches of the Costa del Sol. There is something for everyone in Malaga. This also means that the local people are quite friendly towards tourist.
